Service landing: websites for small business in Helsinki
My own service page: three languages, honest priced packages, and cases shown as built mockups instead of screenshots.
- A client sees the price and what's included before the conversation, not after the third email
- Three languages for the real Helsinki: English, Finnish, Russian
- Every locale is served as static output — the page opens instantly
The problem
Small businesses choose a web contractor first of all on clarity: what it costs, what's included, how long it takes. A page without prices forces people to write an email just to ask 'how much?', and most of them simply don't.
How it works
Packages with prices and contents, the working process spelled out, two cases and contacts. All copy moved into locale files: rewording does not mean touching markup. Three locales are prerendered statically.
The hard part
There was nothing to show the cases with: screenshots of other people's sites on your own page read as borrowed context and go stale immediately. Instead the cases are mockups built in markup that convey the substance of the work. They don't rot when a client site changes, and they pull in no images at all.
Evidence
- Three locales prerendered statically
- All content lives in translation files rather than in components
- Cases depend on no external images and do not age with somebody else's site
